About research at Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities

Mohammed bin Zayed University for Humanities believes research is vital to the renewal and progress of nations. In light of the UAE national vision to support and develop education, science, and knowledge, the university provides a wide variety of support for scientific research activities in the humanities and social sciences with an eye to advancing knowledge, supporting sustainable development, and promoting tolerance and coexistence at national, regional, and global levels.

Vision

Provide all necessary support for researchers and institutions pursuing publishable scientific research in the humanities and social sciences.

Objectives:

  • Demonstrate leadership in scientific research in the humanities and social sciences at the national, regional, and global levels for the UAE and the university.
  • Contribute to the field of humanities in a way that benefits present and future generations.
  • Develop and enhance the research capacity of faculty members and university students in the field of humanities.
  • Build national and international institutional relationships based on integrity and transparency with the aim of supporting and developing scientific research.

Policy:

  • Implement ethical standards of scientific research
  • Implement the highest scientific and academic standards in scientific research
  • Provide financial, human, and moral resources to support scientific research.

Strategy:

  • Encourage faculty and researchers to publish in indexed journals (e.g., Scoups).
  • Encourage faculty and researchers to participate in national and international scientific conferences.
  • Develop partnerships with national and international universities, institutions, and research institutions.
  • Exchange of research and academic expertise at individual and institutional levels.
  • Attract and integrate competent scientific researchers to the university’s team.

Research activities:

Research Chairs:

The University’s Research Chairs Program aims to support faculty members and researchers in producing and disseminating specialized research for the benefit of the community and enhances the position of the United Arab Emirates and Mohammed bin Zayed University of Humanities within the national and international academic community.

Research Fellowship:

The Research Fellowship Program aims to give researchers the opportunity to gain research expertise, develop academic skills, enhance publishing, and keep pace with the latest developments in the scientific and academic community to serve society, the nation, and humanity.

Partnerships:

Research partnerships aim to support and enhance various disciplines in the humanities and social sciences through partnering with prestigious national and international universities, institutions, and academic bodies.

Research grants:

Research grants aim to support and enable any researcher or professor, whether from the university or not, working in areas of common interest and relevance within the humanities and social sciences.

Student exchange program:

Student exchanges and field visits aim to support learning and research by visiting the largest universities and prestigious academic, scientific, and research institutions at the national and international levels, and by helping university students participate in international conferences with scientific papers and active participation.

 

Scientific Citation Guide and Electronic Citation Generator

As a part of the pioneering support from Mohammed bin Zayed University for Humanities for the research, the university issued the Scientific Citation Guide to guide students, researchers, and professors about the curricula and methods of scientific citation aligning with the latest global academic and scientific developments in scientific research standards. The university also launched an electronic citation generator, which facilitates the citation process for users in a sound scientific and systematic manner.
