Master’s Degree Program Admission Requirements:
  • To be succeeded in the bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with “very good” or above.
  • The bachelor’s degree must be issued by a recognized university.
  • His university degree shall be in a subject that qualifies him for the specialized study he is applying to join.
  • To pass a written exam and a personal interview before the Scientific Committee
The student shall meet the following requirements to be admitted finally at the end of the first semester:
  • A minimum average of (3) in the semester average.
  • A minimum score of (1400) points in the Emirates Standardized Test (EMSAT) in Arabic language, and a minimum score of (1250) points in English or its equivalent in other standardized tests (IETLS, TOEFL …).
  • A minimum score of (700) points in the Emirates Standardized Test (EMSAT) in mathematics.
Fulfillment of Graduation Requirements:
  • The master program is deemed fulfilled upon finalizing all courses of the program, including the thesis.
  • The student shall acquire an accumulative average of (3,00).
  • To fulfill the required period to get the degree without exceeding the maximum limit.
Course Completion
  • The course is completed with a mark of (2.00) at least.
  • Master’s degree is awarded in the university in one of the following averages:
Average Grade
3.70 – 4.00 Excellent
3.00 – less than – 3.70 Very Good
Study System
  • The study system of the program is the credit hours system, and teaching shall be during the academic weekdays only, i.e., from Monday to Friday.
  • The program is presented in the blended study system in accordance with the academic accreditation standards of the Ministry of Education in the United Arab Emirates.
Minimum and maximum academic load for the student

The student’s academic load in one semester ranges between (9) credit hours as a minimum and (12) credit hours as a maximum.

Program Objectives:

1- Contribute to the graduation of Emirati researchers, muftis, and jurists highly qualified in the Islamic Law sciences and purposes, the fundamentals, and branches of jurisprudence, in order to satisfy the vacancies in the religion-related jobs in state institutions and entities with national cadres, familiar with the characteristics of Emirati society.

2- Combine the religious knowledge and experienced scientific research based on valid research methods from its original sources and regulated by the sound understanding of the Sharia texts, in order to reach the effective religious knowledge that considers the objectives of the legislation and balances the controls of the sound independent judgment (ijtihad) and the various requirements of the contemporary era.

3- Control the methodologies of fatwa and the religious discourse issues in the Emirati society, highlight the tolerance and simplicity upon humans, emphasize the availability of choosing the suitable jurists’ doctrines, in accordance with the time and place, and the individual and the group, and to adapt the same to the interests of the Emirati society.

4- Enhance the spirit of jurisprudence upon studying the jurists’ doctrines in deriving the Sharia provisions that will coincide with the contemporary developments.

5- Strength the efforts of the United Arab Emirates and support its pioneering role to spread the values ​​of tolerance and peace at the Islamic and international levels and highlight the concepts of good citizenship.

Program Outcomes

1- Employ scientific research methodologies and critical thinking skills to reach the sound knowledge in the Islamic legislation and its purposes and jurisprudence fundamentals and branches.

2- Apply the rules of the sound jurisprudence independent judgment (ijtihad) to derive Sharia provisions from its detailed evidence, to coincide with the contemporary issues.

3- Issue sound fatwas based upon the sound rules of understanding of the authentic legislative texts, in accordance with its ethic purposes and intents, the various requirements of the contemporary era, and the characteristics and interests of the Emirati society.

4- Highlight the tolerance and simplicity of Islam upon humans, and emphasize and defend the tolerance, peace, and good citizenship concepts.

5- Demonstrate the jurists’ method in judging over the opinions of scholars from different doctrines, as per the time and place, and the individual and group.

6- Employ the skills of communication and effective interaction in preparing and addressing the religious discourses.
