Masters Degree Program Admission Requirements:
  • To be succeeded in the bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with “very good” or above.
  • The bachelor’s degree must be issued by a recognized university.
  • His university degree be in a subject that qualifies him for the specialized study he is applying to join.
  • To pass a written exam and a personal interview before the Scientific Committee
The student shall meet the following requirements to be admitted at the end of the first semester:
  • A minimum average of (3) in the semester average.
  • A minimum score of (1400) points in the Emirates Standardized Test (EmSAT) in Arabic language, and a minimum score of (1250) in English or its equivalent in other standardized tests (IETLS, TOEFL …).
  • A minimum score of (700) points in the Emirates Standardized Test (EmSAT) in mathematics.
Fulfill the graduation requirements

The master’s program is completed when all the courses of the program, including the thesis, are completed.

  • The student must obtain a cumulative GPA of no less than (3.00).
  • The student must spend the time required to obtain the degree and not exceed the maximum.
Course Completion.
  • The course is completed with a mark not less than (2.00).
  • Master Certificate is awarded at the university with one of the following grades:
Mark Grade
3.70 to 4.00 Excellent
3.00 – Less than – 3.70 Very Good
Study System
  • The study system of the program is the credit hours system, and teaching will be during the academic weekdays only, i.e., from Monday to Friday.
  • The program is presented in the blended study system in accordance with the academic accreditation standards of the Ministry of Education in the United Arab Emirates.         
Minimum and maximum academic load for the student

The student’s academic load in one semester ranges between (9) credit hours as a minimum, and (12) credit hours as a maximum.

Program Objectives:
  • Achieve a distinguished level in scientific knowledge in general and Arabic sciences in particular.

2- Prepare student to benefit from the original sources and references, in order to achieve depth in knowledge and excellence in research.

3- Enable the student to understand the rules, principles, and skills of scientific research, and qualify him to prepare original and distinguished research in the area of language and linguistics

4- Prepare the student to employ his knowledge and skill gains in the labor market, strengthen his role in serving the university and society, and qualifying him for the Ph.D.

5- Provide the local and Arab community with distinguished scientific competencies in the field of specialization.

6- To have the intermediate knowledge that enables the student to create bridges of communication with all cultures and civilizations through language and its tools.

7- Consolidate the student’s self-learning values.

  4. Discuss Arabic texts; based on ancient and modern linguistic study methods.
  5. Use language and linguistic theories and accurately employ them in the analysis of Arabic texts in the practical and functional applied fields.
  6. Employ modern technology in developing linguistic and research skills.
  7. Develop projects individually and collectively in the field of scientific research in the field of Arabic language and linguistics.
  8. Employ his skills in addressing issues or in developing innovative solutions and proposals in the field of language and linguistics.
