Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities launches knowledge-packed, values-rich Ramadan programmes

As part of its ongoing efforts to serve the community and consolidate religious values, the Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities has launched a series of programmes to celebrate the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The initiative aims to enhance the values of citizenship and community cohesion, through a comprehensive discussion of religious discourse based on tolerance and coexistence.

The series includes “Book and Wisdom”, which presents the spiritual and moral essence of Islam based on the Holy Quran and prophetic guidance. It focuses on the moral, social and transactional dimensions of religion, and emphasizes that the essence of religion is morality, and that it is not limited to rituals only, but is manifested in community activities and values that enhance coexistence and compassion among members of society.

The programme, presented by Dr. Adnan Ibrahim, advisor to the Director of the Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities, and broadcasted on the university’s YouTube channel, aims to revive the values admonished by Islam, enhance a deep understanding of the religion, and take into account the realistic dimension that makes it more relevant to people’s daily lives. In addition, it hopes to enrich religious knowledge with a new vision based on rational and systematic approaches, which contributes to providing a balanced understanding of religion, far from extremism or understanding texts at face value only.

Another programme, “Community Whispers”, presented by Dr. Muhammad Nuh Al-Qudah, a faculty member at the university, discusses the importance of society as an incubator and guide for its members, emphasizing that caring for it is the key everyone’s well-being.

Meanwhile, “Value and Impact” is a programme in which a group of university professors presents various questions and answers from an academic perspective. A religious lecture on the impact of values on individuals and society, the program is aired across the university’s platforms on Instagram and X, allowing to reach a broader audience.

Dr. Khalifa Mubarak Al Dhaheri, Chancellor of the university, said that these programmes come within the framework university’s commitment to serving the community, and in strengthening its initiatives to consolidate the religious values embodies in the Qur’an and Sunnah. These also support the university’s efforts to highlight the human and social dimension of religious discourse and consolidating it among students and all members of society, in addition to enhancing enlightened knowledge of the religious aspect of Emirati identity.

As these programsme are aired during the Holy Month, Dr. Al Dhaheri believes it will be of immense value to the life of all Muslims, especially in strengthening their morality and commitment to human fraternity, as well as in practicing mercy, love, compassion and peaceful coexistence.

Dr. Al Dhaheri stressed that both the topics and presenters of the programs have been carefully selected to ensure that the essence of the series will be properly conveyed to audience, and will have desired impact that will benefit the viewers.
