Bachelors Degree Program Admission Requirements:
  • The applicant shall achieve a minimum average of:
    • 80% in the general secondary certificate for the General Stream
    • 75% in the general secondary certificate for the Advanced Stream
    • 70% in the general secondary certificate for the Elite Stream
  • The student shall pass the personal interview, which includes an oral test and a placement test.

The student shall meet the following requirements to be admitted at the end of the first semester:

  • A minimum average of (2) in the semester average.
  • A minimum score of (1250) points in the Emirates Standardized Test (EmSAT) in Arabic language, and a minimum score of (1000) in English or its equivalent in other standardized tests (IETLS, TOEFL …).
  • A minimum score of (700) points in the Emirates Standardized Test (EmSAT) in mathematics.

Study System
  • The study system of the program is the credit hours system, and teaching will be during the academic week days only, i.e., from Monday to Friday.
  • The program is presented in the blended study system in accordance with the academic accreditation standards of the Ministry of Education in the United Arab Emirates.         
Program Objectives:
  1. Developing the student’s linguistic and literary knowledge, and developing his abilities in basic skills of the Arabic language and 21st Century Skills.
  2. Enabling the student to think properly, analyze, criticize, create and interact with the Arab and human heritage.
  3. Providing the student with basic communication skills. writing and speaking, to use the same efficiently and fluently.
  4. Providing the student with the rules and skills of scientific research.
  5. Strengthening the spirit of belonging to the religion and the homeland by deepening the love of the Arabic language and its literature.
  6. Encouraging students for continuous self-learning and creativity.
  7. Consolidating the values of patriotism and moderation, engaging in contemporary human civilization and openness to the other.
Programme Outcomes
  1. Know literary, critical and rhetorical topics from the original sources thereof.
  2. Distinguish the rules of literary criticism in different literary genres according to the foundations of modern and contemporary literary and critical schools.
  3. Analyze literary evidence and texts using literary analysis and criticism tools.
  4. Use scientific research tools in the preparation of research.
  5. Discuss issues of literature, criticism and rhetoric in creative manners.
  6. Use basic communication skills in Arabic language in research and problem-solving processes.
  7. Use the means of modern technology to develop his literary, critical and rhetorical knowledge and skills.
  8. Adhere to the ethics of his literary profession and bear the resulting liability.
  9. Participate in the management of individual and team work depending on a spirit of leadership.
  10. Employ self-learning skills in his literary area of specialization.
  11. Develop creative literary skills in public speaking and persuasion to build moderate personality in terms of thinking and behavior.
